CGFI Annual Forum 2023
The UK Centre for Greening Finance and Investment (CGFI) hosted its second Annual Forum on Monday, June 12, 2023. The Forum focused on the importance of data, analytics, and innovation in driving green finance both in the UK and globally.
Distinguished speakers from industry, government, and academia participated in the Forum, discussing emerging trends and presenting innovative solutions for advancing green finance.
Fathom Chairman, Prof Paul Bates, led a parallel session titled “Combatting wind-flood risks: Implications, understanding, and analytics from research to business.” This session explored the consequences and understanding of simultaneous natural hazards and their heightened impacts and damages. With the changing climate, comprehending the evolving risks from multiple co-occurring natural hazards became increasingly crucial. The session featured the latest research on combined wind-flood risks, followed by a panel discussion on incorporating these research findings into business decision-making.
