Dr Oliver Wing
Oliver Wing is the Chief Research Officer at Fathom, where he leads the organisation’s academic strategy. His role centres on the preservation of Fathom’s close ties with academia, ensuring their modelling techniques are research-led, transparent, and peer reviewed.
Oliver obtained his PhD in Geography at the University of Bristol, and continued in the Hydrology Research Group as a postdoctoral researcher. He remains an Honorary Research Fellow there, focusing on the development of new approaches to test, improve, and apply large-scale flood models. He continues to publish and review papers in the world’s leading hydrology journals, and speaks regularly on issues related to flooding and climate change at academic conferences, industry events, and in the media.
