Dr Andrew Smith
As one of Fathom’s co-founders, Dr Andrew Smith formed the company whilst undertaking his PhD at the University of Bristol. When founded, Fathom focused on supporting the insurance market to make informed decisions around risk by making leading research available to as many people as possible. Now eight years on, Fathom has products that span the globe and works with several strategic partners to deliver a range of products, across many verticals.
Alongside his role as COO at Fathom, he is also an active research scientist. Having completed his PhD on the subject, his expertise and research focus on the development of computational flood models. As part of this, Andrew boasts an impressive scholarly portfolio, with a wide range of research examining various aspects of climate change risk modelling and modelling floods over large scales.
