Fathom are pleased to announce that we have welcomed Dr Nans Addor to our technical team in the position of Senior Hydrologist.

Dr Nans Addor is a computational hydrologist, with wide-ranging experience in both academia and the private sector. Prior to joining Fathom, Nans worked as a Hydrologist at the Environment Agency.

As well as being an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Exeter, his academic experience includes working as a Postdoc at the University of East Anglia, and the National Center for Atmospheric Research in the US.

Dr Nans Addor’s specialist expertise in hydrological modelling and the assessment of climate change impacts on river flows is an important addition to the further development of our flood modelling methodology.

In his work, Nans relies on a combination of process-based and data-driven models to capture the drivers of floods from the catchment to the global scale. One of his  key contributions to hydrological science is the co-creation of an open hydrological dataset called CAMELS. This dataset is widely used in academia and the industry to explore water dynamics, and has inspired the creation of similar datasets across the world.

His motivation is to better capture and constrain the uncertainties in hydrological simulations to support stakeholder decision making. Visit Nans’ Google Scholar and ResearchGate profiles to learn more about Nans’ academic research and read his published work.

I am excited to leverage cutting-edge research to better capture flood risk and account for climate change impacts. And thrilled to be joining such a vibrant team.”  Dr Nans Addor

We are delighted to welcome Nans to our fast-growing team.
