Intro
This year, the EGU will take place virtually. In this insight Dr Oliver Wing shares the talk that he would have been giving in person.
Springtime normally means one thing in the calendar of a geoscientist: attending the EGU General Assembly in Vienna, Austria.
At Fathom, we attend every year to exchange ideas with leading academics in the field. For obvious reasons, EGU is not taking place this year – but it its stead we have EGU2020: Sharing Geoscience Online (#shareEGU20)
Our CRO, Ollie, was invited to give a talk this year in our favourite session: “Global and continental scale risk assessment for natural hazards: methods, practice and open loss and risk assessment”. While he hasn’t got an audience, he’s still given the presentation and recorded it in the video above. Enjoy, and see you for the session’s online discussion on Monday 4th May, 2pm – 3:45pm CEST. The great thing about #shareEGU20 is that anyone can attend for free!
