Stuart Whitfield

Stuart is the CEO of Fathom having joined the senior management team at Fathom in 2018 as a Director. He is responsible for the overall direction and performance of the business and its integration within the broader Swiss Re group. 

 Stuart has been involved with Fathom since its early days. He met the co-founders at a start-up ‘speed-dating’ event in his role as mentor at SETsquared business incubator. He was immediately struck by their enthusiasm, deep subject-matter expertise and mission-driven approach, something that continues to inspire him today.

 With a strong background in corporate and commercial law, Stuart is a former CEO of a Top 50 UK law firm, and before joining Fathom he was the CEO of an international software company, Erlang Solutions. Stuart is also a regular adviser to technology companies and a former regional CBI chair. 

 Outside work, he enjoys music (particularly obscure 1970s prog rock), gardening, going to the gym, tennis, walking, photography, singing and providing wise counsel to non-receptive adult children – and one well-behaved labrador.
