Customer Success Manager

Joe Bates

Joe is a Customer Success Manager primarily responsible for customer onboarding and dealing with enquiries, as well as packaging up sample data for prospective clients to help them determine which of Fathom’s products are most suited to their needs. 

Prior to joining the Product team, Joe was a Developer at Fathom, providing him with a deep understanding of the methods and data underpinning the products. He first joined Fathom for work experience in 2018 when the company was much smaller, and returned as a full-time employee in 2021 after completing his MSci in Environmental Science at the University of Sheffield. It was during his studies that Joe was first introduced to the various statistical techniques essential for flood modeling, such as validation and GIS. He also gained a solid understanding of coding and environmental issues. 

Joe enjoys engaging with a wide range of clients and supporting the real-world application of Fathom’s data; translating the team’s highly advanced models into information that can be easily processed by a wide range of clients across multiple markets to help manage risks and prepare for climate change. 

When not at work, Joe can be found spending time in the outdoors and following Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bath Rugby.
