Alex is our Senior Software Engineer, who primarily works on Fathom’s Global Flood Catastrophe Model, adding new features and improving the overall model performance.
Before Fathom, Alex worked at space infrastructure company Loft Orbital, where he simulated satellites to decide whether it could safely handle a client request. He was also previously Head of Technology and Software Architect at McKenzie Intelligence Services where he was involved in building the Global Events Observer, a platform for tracking and reporting on natural catastrophes for Lloyd’s of London.
Alex is studying in his spare time for a PhD in Computational Archaeology, focusing on data-driven simulations of the economy of Roman Britain. And when he’s not studying or working, he still finds the time for playing rugby and developing games.
