Platform leverages building footprint data for more than 1.6 billion buildings worldwide to deliver risk scores and transition climate risk metrics.

Fathom scientific flood data has been integrated into the ICE Global Climate Risk Solution to offer users a detailed, building-level view of flood risk.

Launched earlier this month, the ICE Global Climate Risk Solution enables clients to assess climate-related risks across a broad range of asset classes by combining physical risk data, including exposure to eight key hazards such as wildfires, floods and hurricanes, with emissions and climate targets data. The solution covers more than 3 million corporate asset locations, with plans to expand to 9 million.

By integrating Fathom’s data with other flood-focused metrics, the ICE solution provides building-level flood risk insight. It leverages building footprint data for over 1.6 billion buildings worldwide to deliver scenario-aligned, forward-looking risk scores and physical and transition climate risk metrics. It’s  particularly useful for investors and asset managers who previously had to rely on data from wider map areas. They are now able to quantify risk at a  detailed local level to help make more informed investment decisions.

As part of this integration, Fathom’s independently validated flood maps, which incorporate the most accurate global terrain data available to simulate the flow of water, along with climate-conditioned hazard data and additional metadata, are now key inputs in the ICE Global Climate Risk Solution.

Karena Vaughan, Chief Sales Officer, ESG and Climate Risk at Fathom, said:

“This agreement exemplifies what sets Fathom apart – science-driven, independently validated flood data now enabling granular risk assessment across ICE’s Climate Risk database. A game-changer for risk quantification and climate-aligned investing.”

Evan Kodra, Head of Research at ICE Climate, added:

“Incorporating Fathom’s data into ICE’s Climate Risk database and analytics gives market participants an additional insight to better measure and manage flood risk at different locations and for global corporate and sovereign fixed income securities.”
